Suzanne Kasler Inspired Interiors

Suzanne Kasler is our last designer we will be highlighting from the Hickory Chair show room. Suzanne is a wonderful designer from Atlanta, Georgia, where she has a high-end residential interior design firm. In April 2008 she launched a line of furniture for Hickory Chair along with a collection of lighting for Visual Comfort. She also has a collection of rugs with Safavieh and an art collection that we viewed and love from Soicher Marin, along with a collection of fabrics from Lee Jofa. Her Book "Inspired Interiors" launched Oct 20, 2009, while we were at High Point! We were so excited to be able to go to the book signing at Hickory Chair. Suzanne Kasler was in her beautiful appointed library which we just died over. She just could not have been nicer and jumped right up and gave us a few shots with her on her lovely sofa "The Emory" with its wonderful lines and cool flange welt.

Suzanne Kasler designs with a very natural palette adding a splash of color. Here are some of the chapters in her book that will help you get a feel for the style in which she designs. "Luxurious Ease, Architectural Elements, In the City, In the Country, Classic Elegance, Sophisticated Simplicity, Objects and Details, Color and Light, At the beach."
Suzanne says " her dreams are about design." Her signature color is white but adds soft moody colors to accent her interiors. She uses these accents colors in repetition throughout a house to give it flow. These colors often have a undertone of gray giving her interiors peaceful appeal. Some of the ways she uses this added hint of color can be seen in grosgrain trims that she applied to a french dining chair or her gray upholstered head board.
Suzanne is also a collector of objects, one of her favorite pieces to collect is the Eiffel Tower. They can be seen throughout her book and in the Hickory Showroom. She states, "Objects carry Emotions." One of her prizes possessions is a beautiful antique French chair with wonderful crackled orange leather with a craved wooden frame in a washed white finish. It is the inspiration for her Ansley chair. While we were with Suzanne, Thomas O'Brien popped in to tell her that he had purchased her Ansley chair in the orange leather color way. She told us "Thomas O'Brien is the reason I came to Hickory Chair!" She said this with such admiration, she told us to please put that in our post.
We enjoyed our short time with Suzanne Kasler and have been reading her new book "Inspired Interiors" from cover to cover. Her array of interiors and talents are amazing.

I love Suzanne Kasler's updated Southern style. A friend of mine here in Nashville is using her for her home and I am insanely envious!! Great post.

A few things:
1. Love the arc lamp on the desk.
2. Love the light blue stools in the second to last photo
3. That last image reminds me of Charlotte York's NYC condo.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing with those of us who couldn't be there!

I really like her use of orange. I wasn't crazy about it for a while there, but it's really grown on me.
