Holiday Giveaway #1!

Chic Coles is so excited to be hosting one FABULOUS giveaway for each week leading up to Christmas/ Hanukkah. There will be four giveaways in total since there are only four full weeks left until the holidays!

These Japanese Quince Seda France Candles are our absolute favorites and would be the perfect gift for the holidays. I had to buy a few because I like to burn them while I am on the computer blogging and for next to my bed when I am reading. They are great stocking stuffers or gifts for the host of your holiday party! For the individual who wins can even give it away and can cross one gift off your list! I bought these candles for the giveaway at Hazelnut in New Orleans so if you don't win the giveaway, we highly recommend you look into these for gifts (3 votives for only $14.50!)

For a chance to win the giveaway you can get up to 3 separate entries:

1. Leave a comment (with your email)
2. Become a follower or if you are already a follower (on the right hand side of our blog)
3. Blog or twitter this giveaway

The winner will be drawn on Monday December 7th!

Thanksgiving Cookbook

With the preparation of the Thanksgiving meal it is always fun to have a little inspiration and eye candy. The cook book"Blackberry Farm Cookbook" is that for us. It is a wonderful and extremely beautiful cookbook. The photography alone is worth checking out. The author is Sam Beall proprietor of  world renown Inn Blackberry Farm. We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Rustic meets Refined

There is something about a rustic look paired with a more contemporary refined look that really creates a unique look. Exposed ceiling beams with Moroccan Poufs and modern lighting are a great way to combine these two design elements. The look brings together a little bit of the country and a little bit of a hip city apartment. We have a house in the country in New Hampshire that has exposed beams and rustic style doors, however, we also have a more modern decorated house in Connecticut and it is always fun to bring the two styles together. Adding accessories like mercury lamps and trellis pillows help to modernize the house while preserving the country feel.

Do you have any designs in your home where rustic meets refined?

These are a collection of kitchens we have been saving and now is a great time to share them. What are some fun family traditions that will be cooked in your kitchen for Thanksgiving?

I am Loving...

...This geometric rug. There is something so fun about adding a little bit of pattern to your floor and this room is no exception! (I also love the navy ottoman used as a coffee table...but I love Navy anything so, no surprise there!)
Have a great weekend!

Dining Banquettes

Whenever we go out to eat we like to sit at a table with a banquette. It is such a cozy and relaxing way to eat. It gives you a close knit feeling and is very french in style. It can give versatility and elegance to a room. A dining room can have a lot of originality or personal style with a banquette and are very helpful in small spaces. It can double the seating capacity and there is always extra room for one more person. Here are some very beautiful examples of dining with a banquette.

Navy Blue

We have a thing for navy blue what can we say! The way it plays against other colors with its crisp deep saturation of color. Have had a can of Ralph Lauren Navy paint for the office for a while now. It takes a bit of nerve to paint a room that dark.I think it will look great!
