Parquet Tile flooring

This parquet tile flooring caught our eyes when House Beautiful had its top products for 2010. It is a 30x30 tile square...that is really big! It is the inspiration of surface expert Steve Charles who is based out of London England. The product line is called Charles Stone. This product is a composite material made of concrete, plaster and polymer material that can be molded to any texture. Charles Stone looks very real. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and can be used in wet areas. There is a wide range of floor and wall tiles in designs of Parquet de Versailles, Shagreen, Snake Skin, Lace, Leather, Metallics, Quilted Wall Tile, Swimming pools and Art Deco Fish Scales. The Charles Stone Collection is an Ann Sacks exclusive. Below is the Parquet de Versailles, one of our favorites!

What an interesting line. The leather-y one is cool! Would be fun to spec some of these for projects.

Wow, what a crazy cool material. And I'm so in love with the tile in that 4th pic!

Do you see parquet flooring still used in homes? We had ours taken out (although it was in bad shape)six years ago and replaced with hardwood. We then toured a home this evening and there was parquet in the den. It didn't look too bad, but was wondering if it's dated or returning or never went out of style.
