DIY-Zig Zag Lampshades

Last week I saw this DIY project on Starfish and Sundresses and thought it was the cutest thing!  I decided to give it a try.
I ordered this zig zag fabric from Allegro Fabric for $9 a yard!  I got 2 yards, one for each lampshade.  They sent it quickly and this is how it arrived!  At first I got really frustrated because I wasn't sure how to make it fit and be straight on the lampshade.  This was difficult.
So...I decided to change lampshades and tried this shape instead:
I used clothing pins to keep the fabric tight around the lampshade.

Here is the final product!  One of them:
Here is the second one!
My Bedroom with both lampshades!
