Shelving and storage is a big issue when designing a kitchen. One project we have has a full pantry, but wanted to use this space for a washer and drier. So we need to create another area for storage. We are leaning toward building in another full floor to ceiling cabinet that could store all pantry items. Also designing open shelving for china and stemware. This kitchen is on the smaller size, so this extra storage will be a challenge.

Look at how beautiful all the china is that is displayed in the second image. Good luck with your storage problem!

Kitchens can be tricky to decorate. I came across your post this afternoon while browsing interior design blogs and the topic of window treatment selection was very interesting to me. Could you use the window (or underneath it) as some kind of storage even with window treatments on it? It is true that you must dress your windows appropriately to bring out their true beauty.
