We Need Your Opinion

We are in desperate need of a new sofa.
At the moment there is this...

The Ikea Ektorp. Don't get me wrong, the look of this sofa is pure joy to me. I love white sofas, but this thing is so uncomfortable! We have the pull out version and we avoid it. Our sofa! We avoid it!

So we need your help because we can't pick which fabric or which shape. All are very comfortable. They are all from West Elm's new "custom" upholstered collection.

First up the "Henry" Sofa

The "Goodwin" Sofa

The "Walton" Sofa

What do you think? We are definitely going for a blue/ grey fabric but can't decide on the shape, help!

Go with the Goodwin. It will be a nice change from the Ekotorp. More modern lines, will bring a fresh look to the room.

Goodwin for sure!! It's classic.

Wait, I meant the Henry, not the Goodwin. Got confused with which name went with what! Sorry! Go Henry!

I have an Ektorp sofa that is so comfortable but falling apart. I've had it for 15+ years and it's going to the curb soon. WIth a sofa bed you're probably feeling the bars that are inside. The lines of the Ektorp are classic and don't "date". There's a company called Bemz out of Europe that makes slip covers for all kinds of Ikea furniture. Check it out. HOpe this fellows.

I LOVE the Henry Sofa! It's classic and looks expensive!

My first choice would be the Henry, then the Goodwin. I think the pillows on the other one could be a nightmare to keep straightened and wouldn't hold up as well. Just my opinion, of course!

I like the Henry or Goodwin. My sofa has loose pillows like the last one, and I HATE IT. They scrunch all weird and don't stay on the sofa right. It's just annoying. It seems that the Goodwin is a lower profile, so I this the ultimate choice lies in the size and shape of the room. Good luck!

If I could make a pun, i like Henry / Walton...you may ask me "why".
So: because my favorite Oscar Wilde character is "Lord Henry Wotton".

Sophisticated. Persuasive. Elegant.
;-D

Go with the Goodwin sofa...blue is the new neutral and we use it all over our house. As far as the Ekotorp sofa, we had a whole set of that line and had to get rid of it b/c it looked so small in our house (short and shallow).

You guys! This is all so helpful! Keep the advice coming, I am loving it. Shall keep you updated on how it goes.

Hmmm...based solely on looks as I haven't sat on any of these, I'd go with the first one, but I dislike a bunch of loose cushions in the back like the third one has and the second one's lines just seem a bit...off...to me.

i own the henry in a beige-y color. it's quite comfortable!! people sleep on it all the time. sometimes even i do! you can see what it looks like in the home here:

so i recommend getting the henry but in the color that you are showing the goodwin!

hope this helps! can't wait to see what you choose.

Definitely the Henry sofa ... I am adamantly opposed to the feet on the Goodwin sofa ... the Henry is classic but with clean modern lines--it will look fabulous.

Vote 1 Henry, so classic and timeless. Enjoy your weekendx

I think the Goodwin looks comfy yet sleek!

Go for the first one, Henry. The Goodwin has very low back cushions whereas the Henry's are higher which is more comfy for slouching and lounging.

I would go with the Henry simply because I like a lighter color. Could the bars in the sleeper sofa be making your Ikea uncomfortable? I love the lines on the Ekotorp and they have great gray slipcovers now...just a thought -

Hello, I'm new here on your blog...and first thing I'm gonna say is don't go with anything else but Goodwin sofa. It feels like cameleon...it's line is perfect, so as the colour-easy to combine. It represents classics and modern feel at the same time - I.Love.It.

and it's not so close to the floor like the other two sofas are

:)

I like the Goodwin the best. I bought the Walton for a client and we returned it. The back cushions just looked too messy all the time. Although I did like the charcoal gray colour it came in. Happy shopping ;o)

The "Henry" for sure! This is a great way to get advice... Those pillows on the last one would drive me crazy.
