Style Icon-Jennifer Aniston's Perfume

Do you have a style icon? For me that person is Jennifer Aniston-I love and adore everything she wears, whether it's casual, formal wear or business casual - I can't get enough! Because of the fact that I think everything she does is amazing I was sure that I would totally love her perfume. And I had such faith in this I ordered it off Sephora - it's not in stores yet.
It came in beautiful packaging and the bottle itself is so classic and gorgeous. Well as soon as I possibly I could I spritz it - and I was shocked and disappointed. The smell was extremely overwhelming and way too florally sweet. I was totally bummed! Cut to ten minutes later...I was in love with it. The perfume is perfectly feminine with a beachy element to it.
And this ad is perfect proof that she wanted the whole vibe of the perfume to be lade back, beachy, she looks amazing!!!

Home Improvement: The Remake of a Chair

About a year ago I bought the above chair off of Craigslist for about $25. It's not in terrible shape but I cat had not been it's friend a few times and so the chair could use a makeover. With a student budget and the possibility of moving on the horizon said makeover was not in the plan; but now out of school and in a place we love for at least another 2 years I decided it was time!

And I decided to go big or go home...so luckily I have some Sky Beads fabric from Hable Construction and that will be used for the main upholstery while the blue solid fabric will be the contrast welt! I've been saving my pretty pennies to be able to do this, so with a few more nickels and dimes I think I should be able to swing it.

Only question is...should I go for the contrast welt or just do the self welt with the Sky Beads?!

Monogram Soaps

I think these monogram soaps might be the best gift! What a fun house warming gift or birthday present? At just $13 each you choose your color and the shape of your monogram that you want on your bar of soap. I am definitely getting a few for myself!

A Little Turquoise for the Soul

St. Bart's is on our list to visit as a family some day. How much fun could we all have gathering at a beautiful house like this for a holiday in the sun. We could all thaw out from this snow filled winter and recharge our batteries. There would be days of sitting by the pool reading and resting, great meals made together and enjoyed, exploring the island, learning more about the culture, sailing, snorkeling and enjoying the waters that surround it. Ok family, somewhere over the rainbow!

Before and After

This is interior design work at its best. Wow, how these rooms were transformed with the power of paint and a few other little things. We have to say this is a vision. We have come up against a few kitchens and family rooms like this with our staging business and the one big hurdle we always face with the client is painting the wood grain paneling. Once that has been accomplished, the rooms starts its rebirth. Enjoy the afters. Have a great weekend.

DIY: Painted Wall

You all might remember last week when I posted my question to all of you about painting the kitchen wall or not? Well I painted the wall in the "dining" area and LOVE it! It just so happened that even though I was thinking about painting into the kitchen because I'm so obsessed with the color...I ran out of paint. Can you believe it?!

It's still a work in progress but I love love love the color. Thank you all for your input and it might just happen that the kitchen gets painted soon! I need to work on some artwork and getting some great photos of the space.

Navy Yet Again

After Melissa's wonderful post yesterday, I wanted to stay on point. So here are more beautiful blue rooms. Melissa and I spent a good deal of time searching for navy gourd  lamps last night.Robert Abbey was our first pick but as we both remember after visiting them in High Point they have discontinued that color way. Ralph Lauren makes a stunning navy ceramic lamp but it's a little large and out of the price range. Please Robert Abbey, bring back your navy gourd lamp.Anyone with a good idea on where to find a well priced navy lamp?

Blue Bliss

This month's House Beautiful magazine had page after page of swoon worthy images and beautifully designed interiors. I found myself tearing almost every page from the magazine and had a large stack of images I couldn't wait to scan and share with you all. The magazine highlighted the color pink; there were pink rooms and pink sofas but I found myself drawn to one room that had a majority of blue. Surprised? You shouldn't be, since I have a slight problematic obsession with anything blue.

Everything about this room in Ruthie Sommers home catches my eye. The bright blue faux bamboo seating, the high beam ceilings painted blue, the shell lamps from the Breakers Hotel, the pagoda lantern and the contrast of the lacquered red Coleen & Company console table with the carved elephant heads. This is the epitome of my style and I would love to have a room like this in my house. It is so beachy and yet all the colors work so well together!

Client Request - Lucite Coffee Tables

One of our favorite clients is working on making a few changes to take her living room to the next level. One of those changes is a new coffee table, specifically a gorgeous Lucite one. We pulled high to low priced ones; the lowest being my personal favorite, the CB2 for $249, which is a steal!

DIY: Paint the Kitchen Wall or Not?

Help! I don't know whether I should paint the kitchen or not...

I showed a quick iphone photo of the current situation. I know that color is going to be Calypso Blue and I know that I am painting the wall behind the bookcase, but I am just not sure if I should continue the paint into the kitchen. What do you all think?!!
