A little blog talk...Following and Subscribing

We had such a great response to last week's
blog talk about comments. This week, I am
touching on the difference between following
and subscribing, as different ways to follow us!
Google Friend Connect is when you follow
a blog and the new posts are displayed on your
blog dashboard or your google reader. This option
will only be available to blogs that use the blogger
platform and therefore will not be a reliable source
for those of you who read and want to follow other blogs
under different platforms (wordpress etc.)
Subscribing to a blog allows you to receive emails
of the posts to your inbox. You can find all of these options
on the sidebar of our blog!

Google Friend Connect

Daily Emails of the post to your Inbox

You can also follow us on twitter, facebook, pinterest.
I am always looking for at least one way to follow a blog,
since I read so many and love exploring the internet, that I like
having the option of coming back to a blog I love!

You can follow any blog with your GOOGLE READER...when you open your READER, just click the RED SUBSCRIBE button and type in the blog address. It will show up in your reader just like blogger blogs. You can add tumblrs, wordpress etc. It's just not a public way to add your support...or at least I can't seem to find that out. Do you know how? You don't have to be a blogger to use the READER, just a gmail acct holder.

Did you know that google friend connect is being discontinued? And soon--the end of this month, I think. It will be replaced with Google+ pages. It will be interesting to see how different blogs (especially those with lots of friend connect followers) will go about making the change.

I wrote a post on this subject too. I posted it yesterday. It is not so much on what to do, but more on what I am going to do and why!! It will be interesting to see what comes of all of this with Google, I plan on riding the waves,
