Ashley Dortch of HB Home

This beautiful renovation in Darien, CT in the heart of Tokeneke is simply stunning!
The highly talented interior designer, Ashley Dortch from HB Home,
had the fun pleasure of help this young family renovate their home.
Ashley was able to add color and modern twists with the family's traditional style.
She did do this by using neutrals as a base and layering color and pattern.
They wanted fun and whimsical and Ashley delivered this beautifully!

Party Planning

I just bought these {topiary place card holders} for a small party we're
hosting this spring. It will be an outside garden party and these will be the
perfect table accessory. The {twinkle lights} will add a touch of romanticism to
the trees above. Since the party will be a tea party, I would love to find a
a gold tea pot and have macaroons as one of the deserts!

Road Trippin' It: Miami

In just two weeks I'll be heading off to the East for a three
week trip up the coast. I couldn't be more excited and thought it might
be fun to highlight a few stops along the way.

First stop, Miami!
Leslie is finishing up her first year of college and we'll be
starting our road trip here. With five blissful days in this vibrant
city, there are a few places we're hoping to visit.
At the top of my list is Hotel Viceroy. Designed by
Tastemaker Kelly Wearstler, the place looks amazing.
All of the vibrant colors and patterns!
Love the striped loungers by the gorgeous and simple pool.
Wouldn't mind spending a day (or two) here!
Another must see is The Raleigh Hotel
Isn't the pool so cool?!
I love the black trim detailing and the totally hip palm trees.
This ocean view suite is pretty amazing.
The retro feeling, especially with the lady in the Pucci dress
on the deck.
As part of our Road Trippin' It posts we'd love to hear from you all
for great recommendations on must see places.
Next up? Charleston. Stay Tuned!

Navy Moments

With summer approaching and Melissa's post yesterday
it made us start thinking about our all time favorite color, navy.
The clean crisp aspect of this color with white is just beautiful right?
It is such a fresh combination in so many ways.

We love this collection of blue and white porcelain.
The accent of deep navy walls is also a wonderful design element
we are going to try. We have had a can of navy Ralph Lauren paint for
a couple of years just waiting for the office walls of a project.
We also have navy kitchen cabinet that we simply love.

Hutker Architects

Who wants to take a trip with me?
We're headed to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket!
Unfortunately I just woke up from my dream, but
I can still pretend, especially with the amazing
architecture from Hutker Architects, based out of
Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Their use of
beachy colors, interior sliding barn doors, natural
shake siding and open-concept floor plans make these
homes the perfect combination of coastal modern style. My favorite!

Blue + White for the Hallway

We love blue, white, stripes and anything with a hint of nautical.
And what's better than a blue and white runner?
It's the perfect way to add a special element to a hallway,
drawing the eye through the space.
Fabulous for a beach house, we love the sailboat
at the end. This runner is fantastic because it also
has a hint of chevron (another Chic Coles favorite)!
So incredibly chic with the orange Hermes bag
and the straw bag. We love this space.
For my old apartment (oh how I miss the architecture)
I used Ikea rugs, that they unfortunately don't sell anymore.
It was so much fun opening the door and seeing the stripes.
These are a few options you could use for your own
hallway and add a bit of fun!
I can't even pick which is my favorite. Although
the ombre is pretty fantastic.
