Michael Tavano

Michael Tavano designed the outdoor terrace and entry court at the Elle Decor Modern Life Concept House. The spaces were very creative and inviting. Who would have known we were in the middle of Manhattan? What a great place to relax and entertain guests. The wing chair and dining table were such a surprise to see outdoors. They certainly did not look like outdoor furniture and the fabrics that Michael used certainly did not look like outdoor fabric either. The fabrics are from Perennials, linens and
velvets combined. Over all it was a very unique space.

Robert Abbey Gourd Lamp

I have been wanting a Robert Abbey Gourd Lamp
for years! Thanks to Joss and Main, I was able to
fulfill my lamp dreams! It is in the color-way Marine
and I cannot wait to add it to my new apartment!
How chic does it look in these spaces!

Beautiful Drapery

We've been on quite a few adventures lately. We spent a couple wonderful
days in New York City attending events through Blogfest 2012.
Two of our favorite visits were to the Kips Bay Showhouse and the
Elle Decor Concept House.
We took so many photographs throughout the days; some that stood
out the most were our detail shots. We've selected a few beautiful
draperies that we'd love to share with you.
These gorgeous floral drapes with a contrasting back side
took our breath away were spotted in the Lee Jofa Showroom
at the D&D. The floral, stripes and polka dots were perfect.
Katie Leede created a spectactular bedroom and bathroom
for a young adult. She incorporated her beautiful textiles into
both rooms. We especially loved the Thebes fabric she used
in the bedroom. It looks gorgeous next to the Farrow & Ball pink!
We adored the moody green library by Jamie Drake
One of our favorite details was that of the drapery. Perfect
mauve against the shiny green walls.
And the plaid in Thom Filicia's Dining Room was amazing!
We loved his whole room and the way in which he paid
homage to Albert Hadley, with his drawings framed was sensational.

Happy Memorial Day

Some pictures from our Memorial Day. Wonderful breakfast sitting outside with tea and the dogs with the view. Then a great hike up in the mountains. We ended the day with a fantastic dinner with roses, orchids and lily of the valley for the table. Hope everyone is having a relaxing, wonderful weekend. Summer is here!

Nautical Bracelets from Bouy 6

Yesterday Liz of Shorely Chic posted these bracelets on
her facebook wall with a picture of her rocking them at
Blogfest. They are from a super cute designer shop on Etsy
I couldn't help but share! They are absolutely
adorable and are really getting me ready for Memorial
Day weekend and 4th of July...both of which dates remind
me of the beach, sailing and all things nautical! And what better
accessory than a nautical rope bracelet...in navy!

Pieces at Elle Decor

What a wonderful surprise we had when we entered the 2012 Elle Decor Modern Life Concept House. We peaked into the first room and were so happy to see the familiar faces of the Pieces crew. The darling Lee Kleinhelter was standing in her adorable and so sophisticated sanctuary and powder room.  Lee was so gracious to pose with her yellow lamps and fantastic swirling yellow pillows. The powder room with its black and white striped wall added another wow factor to the space. All in all a super cute room and powder room to see. Thank you Lee so very much (hope you made your flight :).

Road Trippin' It: New Hampshire

Last stop for us on our Road Trip is New Hampshire.
We'll all be together and be able to sit back and relax.
Looking forward to swimming, tons of hiking and reading!
There will certainly be lots of time spent on the deck (below) of the red house
while looking out at the views of the White Mountains.
One of our favorite hikes is up to Lonesome Lake.
It's not an easy one but getting to the lake at the top is magical.
And we can't miss a morning of pancakes at Polly's
Maple spread on homemade pancakes.

Soft Seattle Palate

Traditional Home has been hitting it out of the park lately!
I have been loving the clean, black and white interiors
with a pop of an exciting design element thrown in
{i'm talking zebra chair and geometric tiling} in
their issues and just had to share this home in Seattle

Intricate Floral Art

When we saw this image we fell in love.
The feminine qualities pulled us right in.
The element that really stood out was the gorgeous floral artwork.
We wish we knew the source! It would be wonderful to see
the rest of the space.
So, we went on a search for
other intricate floral artwork.
Ron Van Dongen - Anemone Cononaria, 2005
Qi Wei - Hydrangea Exploded #1
Ellsworth Kelly - Magnolia 1966
Polly Apfelbaum - Love Alley

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday Mom! We hope you are having
a wonderful time in New York City at Blogfest 2012!
I can't think of a more fun way to spend your birthday!
We love you!

Honey Collins Interior Design

Located on the North Shore of Boston, interior designer
Lenora Wilcox Collins
better know as Honey Collins, grew up in Atlanta, Georgia.
She is the daughter of an interior designer where she spent
many hours playing store in her mothers antique shop.
What a lucky girl! Her philosophy to design is
"rooms should have classic bones with color and texture."
Our favorites rooms are the ones that she used the wonderful punches of
orange color in lamps, throws and fabrics, welting and even flowers.
