Want To Live In This House? 7.31.2012 Edition

It's another fabulous edition of Want To Live In This House?
This time we're bringing you a super chic home in the Buena Vista neighborhood.
Usually we love to walk you through the house but we think this one speaks for itself.
A classic Edwardian that was recently updated with luxe fixtures and paint selections.
A two unit set up, that could be lived in as a single family home.
The views are absolutely spectacular. Have a look yourself and let us know
if you'd want to live in this house!

Nantucket, Always

Here is a classic restoration on Nantucket...What could be better?
We love it with all of the fantastic details. Beamed ceiling,
hand plastered walls, the simplicity of painting the interior all white and
the amazing butcher block island in the kitchen.
The master bedroom has superb fabric with such a subtle
touch of the nautical element of the island.
The owners goal was to strive to have the renovated
home still keep the charm of a 300 year old home.
We think they have succeeded wonderfully,
right down to the original sink and hardware in the powder room,
which is one of our favorite design elements in the home.

Reese Witherspoon's Ojai Retreat

We were beyond excited to see our favorite starlet Reese Witherspoon
in the upcoming September issue of Elle Decor. She is absolutely adorable
and we've always been fans of her effortlessly chic style.
Her house is a perfect reflection of that beautiful, chic style.
Filled with classic antiques and fabrics from some of our favorite vendors,
including Rogers & Goffigon.
We can't wait to get the magazine in our hands to peruse every last detail!

What's New is Old

What's New is Old again. With years of memories of their
wonderful musty old house on the Vineyard, one family decides to try a new home.
They want to make sure to keep all the old memories alive and well from the old house.
Louise Brooks, a New Canaan based architect, helped with the architectural transformation,
while Carole Bancker Vieter Interior Decoration, LLC designed the home.
The new house has all the style and charm of the old house.
The focus of the house is all about summer. The look of the house is old cottage
with checks and florals and rag rugs throughout.
It was very important to all family members to keep the style
of the old house with the new one, so that their memories could stay alive.
The house is warm and welcoming and not over done.

Creating a Coastal Chic Home on Houzz

Every month, we have the opportunity (thanks, Houzz!) to
create an ideabook on Houzz, one of the best places to find
inspiration for your home...yes, even better than pinterest.
For July, we created an ideabook centered around
and since you all know that this is one of my favorite
design styles for a home interior, I have decided to
focus solely on this style in my new apartment!
I really attribute my love for all things beachy, blue
and nautical from growing up in Darien, CT on the water
and spending my summers sailing on Martha's Vineyard.

I am so excited that all of my favorite things happen to be
in the coastal chic style! You can view all of my picks on

A Few Jewels

There's nothing better than a simple outfit with a few jewels to add
a bit of sparkle. As with clothes I tend to lean to the classic side of things with
a bit of  interesting character to each piece.
We've pulled a few of our favorites to add to any fabulous collection of jewels.

Westbrook Interiors

Atlanta based Interior Designer, Barbara Westbrook, has been chosen for best bath designer for Atlanta Homes and Lifestyle's 23rd Annual Bath Design. This beautiful bathroom has the feeling of such serenity. It was so well designed with its play on scale. The bathrooms small scale flooring is juxtaposed to the larger scale limestone baseboards to the even larger scale marble surrounds. We love the black and white color palette. The simplicity of the space gives it a Shaker feel in design. The windows are immense and provide a beautiful view of the owners' property. This bathroom is simply beautiful and peaceful. What a wonderful place to relax.
