Thankgiving Inspiration featuring ALG Style

I am so very excited to announce I have partnered with the lovely girls
from ALG Style, based out of New Orleans, to bring my wonderful readers
Thanksgiving inspiration for both the fashion and table scape details of the day!
Corrie and Aimée are the two fabulously creative duo behind
ALG Style, a personal style and full service wardrobe curation company.
They also offer "Chic Nola Tours" for those who want a customized
shopping tour of New New Orleans, carefully personalized and curated
by Corrie and Aimée to meet your shopping needs and wishes!
Since they know all of the best hidden spots as well, they are a wealth
of knowledge on where to find the best spots and deals around Nola!
We decided to feature both Corrie and Aimée's Thanksgiving styles
since they both have a different take on the day...Corrie has a more classic
and tailored look, and Aimée likes to showcase the edgy style - I love both,
and it's the perfect combination for complimenting the other,
making for a cohesive styling team!

Corrie describes her Thanksgiving inspiration:

My style is more classic and ladylike. I love leather and A-line skirts
paired with a simple turtleneck. I love the color combo and felt that this
is something I would be comfortable and chic in. I'm a pear shape and the
skirt flares my hips and the necklace draws attention to my smaller half.
Shop the Look:
Banana Republic Wink Necklace - (Currently 30% off with Code: BRSAVINGS {ends 11/23})
Vince Claire Pump in Black - (Currently 30% off: no code needed)

Aimée describes her Thanksgiving inspiration:

I am more Rock and Roll. I love this outfit because it
showcases my fashion sense. Jumpsuits are a fun trend to experiment
with this season and I love the holiday sparkle with the relaxed fit of the blazer.
I will sure be a chic host in this Thanksgiving outfit!

I'm Headed to...

I'm super excited to announce that Kingsley and I will be moving to...
I am so excited, since Leslie is in Providence and family will be very close
for Holidays and weekends. Plus, I have an amazing job starting the beginning of December!
My parents lived in Boston when they were my age, and having grown up visiting Boston
multiple times a year, i'm so excited to be living in the city! When I first decided on Boston,
I found this Boston Map print from Evelyn Henson and it is my newest addition to the prints
for my gallery wall. Stay tuned for Boston posts and apartment design updates!

Lariat Necklaces

I love the delicate nature of the lariat necklace. It adds a bit
of personality to any outfit, especially a simple blouse or
a neutral dress, the necklace then becomes the focal point of the outfit.
This Gia Double Star Lariat Necklace with the double layers is my favorite!

Splurge or Save

I received such a great response on my previous
splurge or save post, I decided to do another one!
I love to find these products that are similar in style
but so different in price and if you're looking for a bargain,
it's nice to know that you can get a high end look for a low end price!
I love these dual sided pearl earrings and I have the Steve Madden
cognac boots (I live in them!), however I have really been wanting a
Prada wallet in Navy, so I think I will hold out for a splurge on that item!

Charcoal One-Button Sweater

I am so very excited about this one button wrap sweater
since it is now one of the most comfortable piece of clothing
in my closet - and just what I need as it is starting to transition
to the chilly late fall air! This sweater is perfect for road trips
or for the plane ride home for the holidays. I always like having
a cozy top to wrap around me whenever the temperature could change
drastically at any moment! I paired it with my leopard heels, Hudson Jeans
and Louis Vuitton bag to dress it up a little bit more.

Holiday Gift Wrap

It has become a yearly tradition, that we each select
a wrapping paper to designate the gifts we are going to
give to others. It started out when my mom and dad selected their
own wrapping paper and us three girls just used whatever was around the house.
Now it has become a point that we each have our own individual wrapping paper we use.
This year, i'm going with a more personalized style thanks to Minted, with whom I have a
gift card! I am going to get the Glittering Monogram Paper with my initials on it.
I can't wait for everyone to see my wrapped gifts under the tree and
I can't wait to see what paper my family ends up using!

Items listed from top left:

Rifle Paper City Toile Paper // For You Tag // Hilda Gift Wrap // Gold Dot Washi Tape

Gold Confetti Tags // Banner Gift Tags // Festive Floral Paper

Blue Spruce Paper // Party Dots Paper // Snow Ornament Tags // Red and White Twine

Cold Weather Necessities

I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year.
I love flannel sheets, cozying up by the fire, hot apple cider
and my leather boots. Uggs with fun socks, and cashmere sweaters and Christmas.
Then we have early morning dog walks in bitter winds, chapped lips and hands,
dark, long nights and bare, leafless trees. It seems as if the good outweighs the bad,
especially when you have cute, cozy winter clothes!

my family's annual Christmas party. I paired it with some fun accessories (clutch, necklace) and

Matchboxes & Candles

A couple of years ago, my sister gave me a decorative box of matches
and a candle for my birthday. Aside from the artwork on the box, these
matches are my favorite since they're long and keep my fingers away
from the flame. They make such a great gift and can be used for any
celebration - holidays, birthdays, hostess gift. I have never met anyone
who doesn't love candles (even unscented) and it's not a risk you have to
take since the match boxes can be used decoratively as well!
I'm hoping my mom will scoop up a few of these for stocking stuffers,

Style Favorite: Grey

I have long thought that Grey could be considered a true neutral.
It can be paired with almost anything and look good. My favorite
color combinations are grey with {navy, purple, hunter green and black}.
I have been seeing a lot of grey sweaters in various price points
from my go-to online shops and my favorites are below.
I'm also loving the Foley and Corinna Mid City Tote!

Go-To Recipes

I find Pinterest to be my go-to resource for delicious recipes. If I am feeling uninspired
in the kitchen (which is often!) I peruse the food section on Pinterest and usually
find an inspiring meal, or at least beautiful pictures of food that make me
want to try it. Every time I have re-created a recipe I have found on Pinterest,
I have always received positive feedback and have been told to add it to the rotation
Whenever I hear that, I know it's a keeper! Therefore, I wanted to share a few of my
favorite recipes. They're easy and delicious! It's amazing to me how many food blogs there
are out there and the best thing about finding them on Pinterest is that one recipe gets you hooked
and then you can peruse the additional recipes they feature on their blog, all from one click!
So have fun and bon appétit!

To All My Shorties Out There...

I cannot even begin to calculate how much money i've spent over the
years hemming my jeans. When I was in high school, my favorite jean brands
(j.brand, 7 for all mankind and citizens and Hudson) never made "short" jeans,
and therefore, that meant I would be making multiple trips to the seamstress. These
brands are now offering petite/short jeans that make choosing shoes without a trip
to the tailor a lot easier and you can wear them right away! I bought the Hudson Jeans
#2 I love them! They fit all of my heels and I wore them out of my house as soon as I took
them out of the box. I don't know why I didn't start wearing petite jeans sooner! Ps. I'm 5'3"
and the heels are approx. 3-3 1/2. Just for a comparison!

10 Holiday Dresses under $100

We are still in October, and I already have 3-4 fun holiday parties
planned within the next few months! This is normal between
Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years festivities and having
different outfits for every party can become quite expensive!
So I have rounded up10 fun party dresses that are all under $100!
Some of these dresses are simple and can be dressed up with fabulous jewelry,
others are fancy and have enough personality that you can wear them as is!
Many holiday dresses this season are short cocktail style,
however I tried to find a couple that would fit different body types and age groups.

Happy Friday!

Pink Ruffle Top

Pink Ruffle Top // Black Pants // Black High Heels
Turquoise Earrings // House of Harlow Starburst Ring

I knew right away that this pink ruffle top would
be a great option for work. The ruffle offers such a feminine
and romantic element, yet paired with a pair of black pants
and heels, it tends to be a bit more professional, which is perfect for work.
I paired the top with my bright turquoise Kendra Scott earrings for a big pop
of color and my House of Harlow Sunburst ring for a bit of personality.
I wore my makeup a little bit heavier as I lined both my upper and lower lash lines,
but kept it appropriate for work with a neutral lipstick and gloss.

Farmhouse Paint Colors

Our farmhouse project is moving along quickly,
and the next step in the process is choosing paint colors.
We are going with Benjamin Moore paint colors and since
it is a rental house, we are keeping the colors serene and calm.
The farm house is a historic home that is undergoing renovations
to preserve the integrity of the home and since it was a diary farm,
will keep the charm and history of the original farmhouse.
There are 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms, large living room and a
spacious eat in kitchen, along with two screened in porches.
Please keep in mind the images with the
different paint options are progress shots undergoing some
serious construction and that have been taken with my iphone.
Stay tuned for professional pictures taken of the finished interiors!

The front and back porches will receive all new
screens and the exterior trim will be painted a bright white.
The doors will be painted a hunter green.

Updating your Bedding

I love that time of year when the weather changes enough to have to change your bedding
from percale sheets to cozy flannel sheets. There is nothing better than having new bedding
that keeps you warm all night! Most of my flannel sheets and duvet covers come from Garnet Hill as the company was started by one of our family friends and the headquarters is in the same town
as Peckett's on Sugar Hill, our rental properties. 2-3 times a year I stock up on different styles, so I have a plethora to choose from. Recently, my mom and dad re-organized their linen closet to house all of the bedding my mom has collected over the years (I may have inherited my bedding obsession from her, but there are worse things, right?)

Diamond Print Sheet Set // Garnet Hill Signature Bedding // Blue Floral Flannel Sheets
Herringbone Flannel Sheets // Botanical Floral Sheet Set
White Flannel Sheet Set // Dot to Dot Flannel Sheets // Flat Stripe Flannel Sheet
