Outfit Post {Lilly Pulitzer Delia Shift Dress}

Today, I am totally putting myself out there and I am posting
my first every outfit post in this dress! It has taken a lot of courage to even
get to the point where I feel comfortable with a style post,
so I am hoping it is something you enjoy! I have a lot of progress
to go, in terms of hiring a professional photographer, learning different
poses and just learning to be more natural in my own skin! I wanted to feature
my favorite shots that looked more candid, and natural - and of course that featured Kingsley,
my year old red labrador retriever. He's such a sweetheart and
I love having pictures of him and I!

I'll be wearing this dress to my sister's rehearsal dinner
next week, and since we'll be doing the rehearsal earlier
than the rehearsal dinner, I wanted to show the two looks
I will be sporting - one for a more casual event and the other
for a dressier, evening event!

Day - Lilly Pulitzer Delia Shift Dress // Rebecca Minkoff Small Amorous Satchel
BaubleBar 360 Studs // Saraa Wedge in Natural

Night - Lilly Pulitzer Delia Shift Dress // Lauren Merkin Gold Clutch
Tulip Tassel Earrings // Navy Suede Heels

Seduced by Blue

The September Issue of House Beautiful and was one of my favorite's i've seen
in a while. Together with Ralph Lauren Home, they featured an article
that showcased interiors that incorporated Indigo
one of my favorite hues of blue. This same issue featured another home
overflowing with blue and white decor in an article titled
The Timeless Appeal of Blue & White. All this blue got me thinking
of quick and easy ways to incorporate it into my home, because I of course,
cannot help myself whenever blue and white are involved.

Bedding is one of the easiest ways to add my favorite color combination. Painting involves a bit more
effort and is more permanent, but if you're serious about making a bold update to your home,
painting your walls in an indigo or navy will be sure to make a statement!

Dangle Earrings

A few weeks ago, I posted my favorite ear cuffs and studs, so I decided I would
put together my favorite hanging earrings. With Cassandra's wedding around the corner,
we are having parties and rehearsal dinners, not to mention the actual wedding itself!
I love to wear my hair down in a straight style, and add a pop of color or metallic,
so it can standout whenever my hair brushes past my earrings.
I find this style of earrings can really dress up an outfit and
who doesn't love to get all dolled up? I just found my rehearsal dinner dress
that i'm wearing and these earrings are the ones i'll be wearing!

Trish McEvoy Deluxe Makeup Planner

To be completely honest, lately, I feel like I have been in complete overdrive
from party planning for wedding activities for Cassandra,
building my business and all of the other end of summer activities.
Don't get me wrong, i've been having fun with all of the new opportunities
and everything that has been keeping me busy, but at the end of the day,
sometimes I feel I am lacking inspiration for blog post ideas - so i'm very
sorry things have been a little sparse around these parts lately! I do have a lot
of fun things to share in the coming weeks (especially with these wedding events)
and of course, fall styles on the way, so bear with me while I get back into the blogging groove!

While I normally like to share a beauty review for Thursday's
(As we speak, I am currently trying out a new product
that will be ready to review for next week), I thought I would
share one of my favorite accessories to hold makeup and some of the products
i've reviewed in the past! Plus it's great for traveling or for carrying your beauty needs
with you on your way to work or out to lunch!

These Deluxe Makeup Planners come in
multiple sizes and colors - some even come
stocked with amazing Trish McEvoy Makeup.
Her Lash Curling Mascara is my all time favorite!
I currently use this to carry all of my makeup and use
a separate bag for my skin care and toiletries. It's just so
easy to have a place for my blushes, eye colors, foundation,
powders and mascara! Plus, the quilted zip design is super convenient!

Going Home Furniture

A couple of weeks ago, my parents and I had the pleasure of attending
the Launch Party of Going Home, a new furniture line created by Jen Going
and Stephen Czeck of Jen Going Interiors. The new line, which features
furniture constructed out of uncured, 130 year old reclaimed wood from Maine
as well as pieces incorporating vintage textiles. The launch party took place at
the Parish Art Museum, set along with the backdrop of a winery in The Hamptons.
The weather was amazing, the party was fabulous and the furniture is gorgeous!
Congratulations Jen and Stephen!

Daily Planners

Even though we are in a very technical age,
where people use cell phones to record dates and notes,
I still love to write everything down in my daily planner.
Maybe it stems from the fact that my favorite time of
year was when my dad took my sisters and
I to staples for back to school shopping. With that time of year quickly
approaching for many families, I still have the desire to
pick up a few new pens and of course, a shiny new planner!

Master Bedroom Design

I want to make my master bedroom a place that will be an oasis
and extremely comfortable! I like bold colors, combined
with the more soft and subtle pieces for a well rounded, balanced space.
I found a lot of furniture and artwork on One Kings Lane, and I am excited
to go check out my local TJ Maxx/Home Goods, as I often find a lot
of things there as well! I have had my eye on the navy tufted bed, so it was
only fitting that I decided to include it in my new Master Bedroom design.

Fall Handbags

One of my favorite handbags is a hunter green Rebecca Minkoff
Nikki Bag. While the bag was one of the larger purchases i've made,
it has been one of the best! It is my go-to fall handbag, especially because of the
color and I am so glad I made the investment. The jewel tones are some of my
favorites for incorporating into my fall wardrobe, while the classic almond/cognac/tan
handbags are the perfect neutral when you don't feel like wearing black. Of course,
a handbag round up would not be complete without a couple of navy pieces. I wanted to
share some of my favorite fall handbags in different styles - from satchels (one of my favorite styles)
to clutches, cross body bags, even weekenders - to bring along on your weekend trip.

Leather + Leopard

While I am normally reserved in my fashion choices,
I was drawn to this edgy outfit with leather pants,
leopard clutch and bright red heels. It makes me want to
step out of my comfort zone and re-create this outfit.
I can just see myself making a few heads turn while walking
by in these sexy leather pants, while still feeling like me in the lace top.
I rarely dress of the box, and I think this will be the perfect outfit to try!
The best part? These faux leather pants are only $88!

Beauty Review {Beachy Wave Sprays}

what it is
(left) - bumble and bumble surf spray
(right) - love + salt "making waves" hair and body spray

how much does it cost:

bumble and bumble - $26 / 4oz
love + salt - $24 / 8oz

what is the product?
Both of these products are used after you wash your hair
and you're looking for that beachy waves look. It adds texture and volume
to the hair and enhances the "just off the beach" hair look.

how do you use it?:
Right after you wash your hair, before brushing, set your part and then
use the spray while scrunching different parts of your hair in an upward motion.
So start with the front section and while you have the hair scrunched up
in your hand, spray the space and scrunch it into your hair.
Do this along the entirety of your hair and then let it air dry.

what I liked
I have naturally wavy hair. If I wash and air dry my hair (without brushing it), I get
long waves in my hair. I found that the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray made my
waves more defined and like I had just come out of the waves at the beach. I liked
that the Bumble and Bumble spray did not make my hair stiff or oily.

The Love + Salt spray can be used as a body and hair spray - just spritz it on your
skin for a little glow. The Love + Salt spray smells amazing! Plus, the ingredients in this product
are all natural and there are no toxic chemicals or unhealthy additives. big plus!!

I also love that you can get mini-sizes for both of these products!
bumble and bumble 1.7 oz - $15
love + salt 2 oz - $10

what I didn't love
The Love + Salt spray didn't give my hair as definite a wave look.
The bottom of my hair was very wavy and beachy, but the top didn't have as much definition.
Next time, I will try scrunching the top of my hair and spraying more on those areas.

The Bumble + Bumble has a few ingredients that I cannot even pronounce,
and while I really like the way it makes my hair look, I like that the love + salt spray
has ingredients I actually know what they are!

will i use it again
Since I have both of the full size products, I will definitely be using these again.
I will be using the bumble and bumble surf spray for those days when I need the
more defined beach waves and the salt + love spray on my skin and for the days I
don't want to style my hair as much.

based on my own experience and findings.

Holiday House Hamptons {Sag Harbor}

Last Friday, after a wonderful Launch Party for Going Home
the furniture line newly launched by Jen Going Interiors
we had the wonderful privilege of being able to walk through the
Holiday House Hamptons in Sag Harbor to benefit the
Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Jen Going and Stephen Czeck had designed the bungalow
master bedroom area of the show house and it was by
far my favorite room in the whole house. It was so exciting when I walked
into the bungalow bathroom and saw an Elise Allen Art painting!

The 2014 Holiday House Hamptons was hosted in the Watchcase Factory Building,
where it is currently being renovated into 64 homes with different floor layouts.
We walked around on Main Street in Sag Harbor while we waited
for the show house to open. The town is very quaint with rich architecture and
beautiful homes. It reminded me of some of the charm of Nantucket.

*This bathroom has a combined shower and bathtub.
I LOVE that Campion Platt incorporated artwork on the wall of
the bathtub. It was my favorite feature in the bathroom, and
one you don't see very often! The original beams were also exposed,
which helps capture the original architecture of the building.

*Looking at the sofa configuration West Chin created is so unique
and I really loved just how much seating this offered.

*Jen Going's master bedroom in the Bungalow was my favorite room.
The watercolor canvas combined with the Going Home headboard are
super original and so inventive! Plus the space fits the area of the Hampton's to a T!

*Images compliments of Hamptons Cottages and Gardens, Lonny Magazine and Chic Coles!

Pink Pink Pink

If you look at any word for too long, it starts to look funny...
Like that's not really how you're supposed to spell the word.
After a bit of research, I actually found a form of this to be called
"Semantic Satiation" and it happened to me with the word PINK.

Fit and Flare Dress // V-Neck Dress (also amazing in the navy!)
Nars Lip Gloss // Jimmy Choo Heels // Benjamin Moore Pretty in Pink

I also found a bunch of other pink items - dresses, skirts and accessories!
